One of the many things to witness at the palace is the changing of the guard. This happens daily at 11:30, May through August. The frequency is reduced to alternate days from September to April. This tends to be a very popular event, so make sure that you arrive in plenty of time. If you want to visit the palace staterooms, you can do so from approximately August 1 to September 28 starting at 9:30 in the morning. If you are visiting the staterooms, be prepared to pay an admission fee.
